im about to change the fluid out on this 2004 max, its got 130,000 miles on it, the tranny fluid is black. ive seen here that you have to use nissan matic k fluid directly from nissan. has anyone used a different fluid. any cons to it?
i got some valvoline maxlife tranny fluid sitting around. thinking about using that. if not maybe use some mobil 1 synthetic tranny fluid. which seems way cheaper than than $15 a bottle for nissan's fluids.

shoot use what was working. Evidently what you had in it was working don't take a chance on something that might destroy your tranny.

 

but we just got this car, so we dont know wat it used to have
