Need Some Help

I just traded my 2000 Max for a 2006 Max a week ago. I have already have an issue that I need some help with.

When I accelerate to about 2000 RPM's I can hear a sqeaking or grinding noise which I believe is coming from under the car. It only happens for a second and I cannot hear it any other time. It does not happen if I am in nuetral at all but only when I am moving.

Does anyone have any ideas what it can be? I would really appriciate any input I can get. I did not purchase any extra warranty because I feel it is a ripe off. Thanks!

There is an exhaust bracket that breaks under the engine and will cause a rattling/vibrating kind of sound from about 2-2.5 rpm only during acceleration. Grinding / Squeaking are two different sounds to me.

Drive by a wall, or a straigh up curb and listen to it some more, give a little more description.

It is a sqealing noise kind of like when you get break dust.

I have been told by others as well that it is probably the exaust brakets. I found the service bulletin from Nissan. I guess I will take it in and get it checked out.

I just don't understand is why it only makes the noise at 2000 to 2500 RPM's while in gear. I guess that is why I'am not a mechanic.

If you just purchased it then they should have to repair it, so take it back and stand firm. Does sound like a loose heat shield or broken exhaust bracket.

If you can imagine how sound travels and resonance, a certain frequency is obtained through your exhaust and at that certain RPM, you get the elusive heat shield rattle and/or bracket vibrating. Sounds like a banshee.
