Brembo Brake Covers for stock calipers?

http://www.myhotmaxima.com/Custom/Br...Toyota/647729/ Will these fit on our cars with our stock calipers? I like the look of Big Brake Kits but, the gains do not outweigh the cost. I wouldn't mind getting these and painting them for my ride.

I saw them on a g35 sedan and it looked nice but to each their own... you'll get less slack and its prob a lot cheaper to just paint your stock caliper.

Those are pretty funny looking, i wish i could see them installed on something in person. If your calipers bother you why not a quick coat of black ok maybe red paint on them? And as Staggerd357 stated why skimp out on your brakes?

* They tend to come in handy at just the right moment.

I hope you DON'T go that route. Either paint your calipers, or buy wilwood or rotora.

Are the Brembos all that expensive?
I was going to price them when I need the brakes done but if they're pricy, I may just paint the originals.
Can someone please tell me where I can purchase cross drilled rotors and ceramic pads and does it keep the dust down or are they worth it?
Sorry for all the questions but I want to start adding to my ride and I gotta start somewhere.
I'm still a newbie so I can't post yet, sorry for the hijack.

Right but the point is the same as painting although I think its a better look then painting it if you do it without removing caliper.

I already painted the calipers silver. They look nice but are so damned tiny looking. I also don't think a big brake kit is worth it. I mean to each their own but my car stops real well with stock calipers, drilled and slotted rotors, ceramic pads, and ABS. Not to mention steel braided lines soon to follow. So basically this was cosmetic upgrade all in itself. I am one to make bold decisions that end up working in the end so after I do some measurements, if they will fit, I will get them and be the 1st 6th gen with fake BREMBOS. I saw some time ago a thread about magnetic covers for the calipers to enhance the look, I think these would be better because the chance of them falling off and causing damage would be so much smaller. Thanx for the insight but this still looks like a good cosmetic improvement.

we are not against cosmetic upgrades, but somehow fake performance parts for cosmetic purposes just don't mix well. , its just like adding this thingy

it just feels like cheating

I agree, If you think its pointless think about it like this, We have spoilers, we are all fwd cars. How much does the spoiler help is performance wise? Just the same way this would be something for looks, I dont think its poser but I think brake wise Im pretty set (Check Sig) and it doesnt make sense for me to do a bbk becuase Im not putting down that much power yet, and most of us here in the 6th gen community arent either except for chernmax and a few others I belive with a auto tranny you can only do so much (Unless you do a transmission rebuild with stronger parts like chernmax, and I think that would be out of the ? for most of us to spend a few g's on a turbo then more on a tranmission) so provided you have some nice brake pads, rotors and stainless steel lines you should be good.

This is no different then putting spoilers and bodykits on this so called "family sedan"
Go for it!

I see both sides but spoilers have been on cars since the dawn of cars and fake brake covers have not. I for one love to save money and would like to represent the maxima as a modest luxury sedan; but putting fake covers on does not honor this very well. If you think your brakes are fine, which I know they are for your driving conditions, you dont need the stainless brake lines. Look into the 300zx calipers as there are deals t o be gotten, but you had to realize this would happen when you posted this thread.

I see your point about representation but look at it from a visual mod point to make the caliper look more finished, as opposed to the regular rusted metal look.

I used to have these on for a bit.

They fit great and actually got alot of compliments. I sold them when I sold the Foose wheels. A "cover" I can see but I would laugh at a fake caliper.

who is this guy. Sounds like you have a well thought up plan for your ride. Maybe you should start by buying a 6th gen first. Then come back and voice your very helpful opinion.

I say do it. For the price, if you hate them, take them off. If it looks good, then why not.
