When I pop the trunk, the trunk lid does not POP UP automatically.
It just clicks and unlocks, but it won't pop up.

and that $h*% is heavy.

what could be wrong?? Is it the air shock/strut looking things that's broken?

if that's so, could I DIY fix it somehow??

 

I am pretty sure it is not supposed to pop up. My 03 doesn't pop up either.

Mine dosen't pop up either, never has.

If yours dosen't stay open on it's own, I'd say replace the shocks.

 

My does not pop open either. My girlfriends 06 Altima does. I guess they just were not made to pop???

 

no pops here either... if you think its heavier than it was before then maybe its the hydraulics...

 

def. not supposed to pop up, the trunk shocks are there to help keep it up and that it.

the altima trunks are build differently. they use tension rods to open the trunk therefore they pop up.

better hit the gym then.. maxima trunk w/ spoiler is a lil heavy for me bwahahahahahah
