What made you buy your Max?.....Why do you love it?

Quickness for a 4 door sedan? The looks? The Maxima heritage? What?

For me, it was definately the looks. I remember when the new Maxima commercials came out in 03 sometime and it showed the Maxima speeding through a dusty desert....It looked baddass. My favorite angles of the car are just behind the back door where the roof connects with the backend of the car...along with the chrome that runs down our back windsheilds. Also, the straightline speed enticed me...

The straight up looks of the Maxima. The power....I didn't know what to expect but love that too. It's the whole package, styling, power, ROOM to put family, trunk space. Stock, the gas mileage is decent too.

I always liked the Maxima, the 5.5gens were sweet, wanted one but couldn't afford. The 6th took it up a notch. The 07/08 took it even further with a nice bumper. I'm not sold on the 09+ styling though. Just my opinion.

My '04 is my 4th Maxima.

I had a 90 in Highschool... a 95 in college... a 99 after that... and now my '04. This will more than likely be my last Nissan... time to change things up.

My wife wrecked my lowrider blazer and I had to get another vehicle. went to the car lot to look at a turbo Jetta the salesman convinced me to testdrive the maxima and I fell in love. the power, the cabin space and then googling it to find after market parts and finding this site and seeing all the fixed up ones on here and I bought it the next day

In 2004, I was looking for a car with a Manual Trans. I wanted a sporty sedan that would hold four adults, comfortably. Reasonable power. Good handeling. I couldn't afford a BMW 5 series or an Audi A8...There were not many choices left, unless I wanted to give up that M/T. When I drove the Maxima, I saw no reason to look any further. After 120,000 mi I still love driving it.

Good thread. I'm on my second Max because the VQ motor is bulletproof, and the car appeals to a more individualstic crowd who want a nice affordable blend of value, performance, and luxury. That and, ever since the 5th gen, the designers have always taken chances and provided the car with a "love it or hate it" design that looks great.

Bought a used 06 from a Chevy dealership

I drove a few 09 Impalla's then saw the Maxima hiding in the corner because the finance manager had been driving it for a month... found out if the "non-chevy" used cars don't sell in 30 days the employee's get discounts...
The moment I accellerated, and the wife kept squealing the tires every time she stepped on the gas, I had to buy it... it just happend to be the 28th day it had been for sale... You should've seen the finance manager grumble when he handed me the keys to my car ... HA

I just bought my 06 Maxima yesterday.

My 03 Altima wasn't cutting it. Due lack of traction control, I could slide through a wet intersection, or easily get stuck in a little snow. And yes, I put nice BFG tires on it, but that didn't help. I test drove a Max in the rain and put the traction control to the test. It would slip for a half second, then the TCS would kick in and the car would go.

The responsive 3.5l v6 is fun. And there are alot more gadgets in a Maxima than an Altima.

The Altima was very hot. I had to tint the windows, but the dash would get so hot that the AC couldn't keep up. I don't know how Nissan does it, but the AC in the Max starts out cold.

And, most importantly, HEATED STEERING WHEEL!!

Sold the 2006 Explorer on a Saturday and went looking for a replacement commuter car for GF on Sunday. Stopped at a local Nissan guy who was open on Sunday..test drove it...made a money deal in 5 minutes. Car has 45K miles after 26 months. Plan to get rid of it at about 80K and get a slightly used MB E class.

Acceleration was better than anything I'd test driven, and the features where far superior to anything new for 10,000 more. I didn't even realize it had HID's until I got it home, that was an added bonus!

Got a pre-approval letter from Capital One (my credit is horrible, and they seemed to be the only company willing to finance me). However, I had to go to a Chevy dealer about 30 miles south from where I lived. Since the economy is in the tank, I thought that I could get a slightly used Malibu V6 for under $20K.

No dice .. all of them were in the mid to upper $20K range. So I was like "ah well", but then they had an '07 Maxima on the lot. After nearly slamming through the windshield (not used to foreign brakes aka "initial bite"), I knew I had to have it.

However, true to form as an experienced car shopper, I didn't buy it that day. They originally offered me $500 for my Buick Regal clunker, $700 down payment, and $516 per month.

I walked.

A few days later, the salesman calls me back and offered $475 per month, $0 down, and $2500 for my Buick.

The rest is history ...
