Steering Rack Internal Leak

long story short, i took my car to this 1/4 mile oval track where some old co workers of mine race their stock cars and raced the max in King of the hill. which is an elimination style race where you race your street car. i got second place and lost to a Cobalt SS with a turbo. now this was a couple weeks ago and this morning as i was leaving the drive way for work i turned the wheel to hear the typical power steering whine noise from low fluid. i though how can that be i just checked it when i did my last oil change before the race and it was right at the top where it always is. so i think what happened was, when i was at the track i loaded up the rack too hard in the high banked corners and blew out a seal and now its leaking into the boot around the inner tie rod.

has anyone replaced the rack before and if so how much is the rack worth? i can change it myself no problem i just don't want to get raped on the price of the rack from the dealer.

No answer but you sound like you know your stuff

I took my 09' maxima in for a car wash and left to grab food without leaving the remote. Seem to have forgotten about the keyless thing. So upon returning i find that my car is over on the grass and an employee tells me he had to push my car and try and turn it with no power steering because the car was off. I think no big deal. But now my new car seems to be pulling to the right. Is it possible that trying to turn my steering wheel with power steering off could damage it in some way? I tried turning it myself from a stopped position and the thing barely budges so i can only imagine how they did it.

thanks
nick
