350z's are overrated IMO. I hated the interior of the two I sat in. they look nice and are quick but I would go g35. Much nicer inside and even look better than the z.

G35, trust me you will not regret it... except for you'll miss some of the features that the max has lol.

G35 is slightly slower than the 350z, but you'll have more use out of it and it sounds just as nice with plenty of go.

These are rather different cars. I have an '04 G35 coupe and an '07 Maxima SE, so I have a pretty good basis of comparison.

Why are you looking to sell your Max and move to a G35 or 350z?

One of the nice things about the G or Z is the large number and variety of aftermarket mods available for them as compared to the Gen 6 Max (if mods are something you're thinking of doing).

Not sure what you are talking about... my G37x loaner a few weeks ago was like butter! You could tell it was an Enterprise car, but it was flippin' sweet! Endless power... well, that's what it felt like.

Yea it has good power, but the engine sounds like a tractor (trust me my FX has a 3.5 HR engine and my friends got a 3.7 G37) Anyways thats the reason its not the top 10 engine anymore. And if your looking to track, go for a s2k, sti, evo or any Vette.

6spd G35/7 FTW. but keep winter driving in mind if its a daily driver, RWD in snow with a car weilding that much power is scary.

^ try a z06 in snow lmaooo, I'm just trying to say Gs and Zs aren't as good as people say. If your getting used, get a cts-v, it'll eat any Nissan minus the GTR.

Its actually not as bad as people think, as long as you use winter tires.

I drive my G in Saskatchewan winter and its fine. I have 17" blizzacks on my G. Like any car, easy on the throttle, brake early, and don't panic.

Infact, I've been stuck with my Max more times then my G. I even have Studded winter tires on my Max.

s2k would be an awsome track car. sti and evos not so much. i used to auto-x back a few years ago and the rwd's would own the auto-x while the 4wd's could have done better. the only one that did great was a fully built evo which got decent times. idk i still say if ur gonna go for a track car go for the Z. ive seen wat they can do in person and it is freakin amazing seeing those things going around the track

not to mention the auto g35 is slower then the maxima. Atleast it was at the track

My buddy has an 08 350z, nice car overall. He picked it up for 23k brand spanking new (thanks to my dealer hustling skills). The g35 is nice also, but the only advantage I think it has over the Z is the back seat (tho its tiny as hell, Im 6,2" and I can only fit in if I slouch and lean).

I have driven an 04 max, 08 350z, 04 g35... tbh, its not fair to compare 2 2004 model cars to an 08, but I can honestly say that the Z is the most fun to drive, the G just feels way to slow for a 2 door sports coupe, and the max... well you already know what its like

Go with which ever car tickles your pickle. You really cant go wrong with any of them tbh. You could always get a new Max

i would love a g37 or 370z, but im a 17 yr old kid, cant quite afford that yet.

the 350z has always been what ive kept my eye on, i like the extreme exterior styling, more eye catching than most cars. But the g35 seems more luxerious and it has a backseat! its so diffficult to choose between the two!

does anyone know the typical price range for the two?

Check kbb.com for used car prices to see what they are running these days.

Do yourself a favor and get the sedan. A 2 seater 350z for a 17 year old... you're talking highway robbery with the insurance rates. lol

New member. I recently traded my 01 Mustang GT for an '06 Max 3.5SL. I was torn between the max and an 05 G35 coupe. I ended up choosing the max because it was about 3K cheaper and more practical overall. I hope I made the right decision. I'm liking the maxima so far but often wonder if I would have like the G35 more.

i got my maxima brand new when I was 26 and it was a big buy for me. You are 17 and thinking of trading your maxima? Damn it, be happy with that and save your money for prophylactics and hand soap for all the girls you will be fondling in college.

i came upon this same question a couple months ago. After having my 2007 SE for nearly two years i wanted to make a move to a g35 because of the 6spd RWD but where im from it is very common to see a G35, 350, or a piece of **** scion tc. Some might say get a car with a lot of parts but IMO i like choosing cars that are not as common because it is way more satisfying modifying a car with limited after market parts. I am also a 19 yr old college student who dont need the luxury of a g35 and it wouldnt be convenient for me to drive home with friends from parties in a 350z being a two seater. I also like surprising people who under estimate the Maxima and what it is capable of doing. and that is why i kept my Max.

I just bought my G coupe in May. It's an 04 and definitely a great car.

My dad has an 08 Maxima, and although they are probably equivalent in terms of power, the G of course has tighter steering and is more fun to drive. With that, you'll also enjoy every ditch and pot hole as well as road noise.

As you said, these cars look hot, and the back seats, though small, are still usable especially if you wanna take friends - the main reason why I chose the G over the Z.
