Got it! Thanks. Anyone know where to get those pieces new cheaper then the $143 a piece at the dealer?? Just the back pieces, not entire trim.

oh god, we're beating the same dead horse here year after year. Here are your choices

a) Buff them out using polishing compound

b) Apply decals to cover them

c) Paint Your Strips

d) Replace them

e) sell your car with them and forget about this and other problems - for advanced users only

Why would do any of those myself if the dealer will take care of it?

My 05 I just bought has perfect chrome strips on both sides of the rear window, but the rest looks like dull brushed aluminum. My mom also has an 05 but it all looks like brushed aluminum.

Last I checked i was in 6th gen forum. There is no 6th gen in the world that would qualify for a 1 year-12,000 miles warranty and this is the warranty that applies to "cosmetics" and "adjustments"

If your dealer replaced them for you, say thank you, he was either extra nice or will rob you on something else in the very near future.

Time for resurrection! How did you pop it off without breaking the clips? I broke mine on the first piece and don't want to have to replace all 8 clips...

There should be another post with more details buried somewhere. I hope you're not doing it for cosmetic replacement. The next set will dull just as fast.

Some used tons of gentle patience and still cracked their windshields or at least broke minor parts.

remove the rear part with the screw
then pull on the long band, it will unclip it everywhere once you pull...
