Factory Nav and aftermarkert radio?

Is it possible to keep my factory nav and still be able to install a an aftermarket radio? I'm looking at getting the Alpine iXA-W407 and still want to keep my factory navigation unit in place.

Hey guys, I have a 06 Max with no Navi, but it has a screen on the upper dash like a navi. But all it display is the radio, a/c, etc. Can I turn that into a screen where I can watch movies if I install a dvd player? Without losing all of the original factory display stuff? Help! Thank...

I called a local A/V installer up here in Seattle and there isn't a after market system that would allow you to retain all those functions of you factory Navi/Audio controls. I was told that putting that screen somewhere else and putting the after market up there would be the better route. Not sure how that would work.

this is what I was quoted.

"you can install after market unit for nav and relocate the original screen like the rest of us are doing. this will keep all the original equipment and just add another unit. recommend taking a look at www.6thgenmaxima.org and checking out the pics of audio installs."
