Smashed front end

Well today was a wet day and on my way to work someguy in Tacoma decided to slam his brakes and of course I slid into him. Basically from a stop I let my foot off the gas and reached for my cell. When I looked up again I rolled into him. My fault. Now he had a big trailor hitch and my grill only came in contact with the hitch. So metal on metal. His rear bumper looks fine and my OWN GRILL did the damage to my car. The hood bent up from the grill and the grill managed to crack the headlight from inside. The Grill pushed and bent the radiator and Coolant leaked out. Finally the grill craked but never bent. That E&G grill is crazy.

Did you change the fenders? Your right, I can get the 07-08 hood and bumper. Only the passenger headlight is cracked so that might be a problem.

fyi... i think consumer reports did a research on a 20mph head-on crash on a maxima, an accord and a camry... they released the results like 2 months ago and they said that the maxima costs most (like around $2800.00) in repairs when it comes to that kind of crash...

sorry to hear... hope ur ok...

For some reason I can't reply to your quote. But $2800 is right!
The hood, bumper, headlight, radiator, radiator mount and cooling fans all have to be replaced. Some clips and she will be like new. The radiator mount is held on by both sides of the frame. This is what the top of the grill and air flow piece sits on.

Nooooooooo!!

That sucks man...

Do what you can to make sure it dosen't find it's way to CARFAX.

My wife hit someone in our old Murano. Cracked a headlight, grille, etc...

A $2500 accident (which was labeled not her fault) hit us hard on resale.

CARFAX FTL.

BTW, besides my own, your max is one of my fav's. Nice and clean.

Nope. Fluid leaked from the radiator but it starts fine. No engine light. I won't start it again until the radiator is fixed and flushed.

I'm going through Maxima withdrawal. I now realize that driving anything less just hurts. Would rather go a step up. Waiting for the body shop to finish up but might take another two weeks or so.

Glad to hear you're ok..to bad about the car though. Why bother with the conversion...get the GTR bumper or the same bumper that Chern has. Looks bad now but it can be fixed! I had the same thing happen to me last spring. Some SOB in a POS Civic slammed on his brakes just to be a pr*ck cause he was jealous that I was going to pass him. I don't play that "game" anymore. Let them go it's just not worth it. We were going down hill with 3 lanes and he kept changing lanes to prevent me from passing him!

That was only a 5mph roll with my foot off the accelerator. These cars don't do well in front end collision. It only looks bad cause the guy had a trailor hook. For now on I'll consider front and side collision before I buy a car.

two weeks?! that should be an in and out job man. there is no reason for you car to be there any long than 4 business days.

well actually if you do the math, it works out:

work 10 minutes
bathroom break 25 minutes
cigarette break 45 minutes
back to work for 20 before going to lunch
etc.
etc.
etc.

comes out to about 2 weeks.

Liability, I know a really cool guy at a bodyshop. He has done a Ram Air hood, bodywork on my old cars. On the Max he painted the rims/roof spoiler and installed the trunk spoiler and filled the holes. He said don't worry I'll take care of it. So, I'll wait on him.
