TPMS Question

After the TPMS warning light came on, I checked the tires and all had 33-35. I brought them all up to 35 per spec. Light did not go out after I started the car up again. Do you have to recycle the start a few times or drive the car a few miles to make the warning disappear?? Any ideas??? Thanks in advance.

Gotta drive 25+mph for a few minutes. If all is well then the light will go out.

Thanks, DON: Drove it around a little at over 25MPH and light is now out. Thanks.

Torchcorvette, I know you know that that was the only way to get that light off. Go to drive it around for a little. Well, glad it went off.

I just put 4 TPMS that i bought onto my stock 18s because i had took the original ones off to put onto my aftermarket rims. The sensor light wont come off the dash for nothing, i resetted the ECU, filled up all the way, tried driving 25 but thats pretty hard to do in queens local streets lol. ima spin by the dealership because i heard they have to register it or something like that.

Yes, the TPMS sensors have to be registered with the BCM via the consult2 tool. When you put your aftermarket wheels back on you will have to go back to the dealership and have them do the procedure again.

sounds like a big waste of money to me. I have a tire pressure gauge that fits in the gas cap area. I can't depend on my car to make sure things are safe, I do it all myself to ensure it's done right. I check my tires and around and under my car all the time. expecially if I go downtown waikiki.

Each TPMS sensor has a specific transmitter ID. When you replace the sensor's the new one's must be registered and it overwrites the old ID in the process.
