Wanting to Sea Foam today. Watched Chern's vid but have a question about the intake.
Chern has an upgraded intake. I have a stock one. so the video doesn't help me select the correct hose. Which hose do I pour the sea foam into? I know it is on the left side of the intake, but which one? I disconnected the one i thought it would be and the car studdered and shut off, so it would not work there. Help please.

do not do this way!!!. take off your cover and towards the upper left side of the intake manifold you'll see a small blackish gray hose. remove it and suck it up using a straw very slowly. the car will act like it wants to shut off but when it does that just back off a little bit and follow the rest of chernmax instructions. thats how i did it and if you have anymore questions just ask bro. get ready for the smoke show.lol

Yes. vacuum hose works great. Have done this every 5 K and never threw a code at me at all. I do see the benefits. I am 76K and she idles like a champ.
Go to dollar general and get a funnel for a buck and go to wal mart, and look in the garden section for those tiny black hose made for small sprinkle systems. They sell them in the roll. it attaches perfectly to the right size funnel and to the end where the vacuum hose attaches to.

Just did this a couple days ago because I was having cold start problems and didn't want to clean the TB. I have a stock manifold also. Looking at the manifold you can see the "vacuum can" that looks like a small can of soda...a small hose runs right up to the front left side of your manifold(looking in you engine bay from the front). Disconnect that hose and put your 1/3rd into that fitting. Make sure to do it kinda slow. After the five minutes start her up and drive...drive fast. When I started mine back up and revved..the CEL blinked for about 10 secs. then went right away. GOOD Luck.

Chernmax, why here at the line to the VIAS vacuum reservoir, as opposed to the brake booster line?
Also, I seem to remember a thread some months ago where the OP ran a long tube to the driver seat so he could keep the car rev'd while sucking up the seafoam. Thoughts on that? (keeping the engine rev'd, that is.)

Because the line is easy to remove and is long which will allow you to use it like a straw to suck the seafoam out of the can or a cup!
When applying the seafoam into the IM, the car should be on already and idling in neutral, I'm not sure if revving the car has any added value, I suspect some people do it to stop the car from stalling which it may do during this application. Mine did not. As for long tube, why? use the hose pictured and have someone else lightly mesh down on the gas if you want to rev it!

That VIAS vacuum line is definitely more convenient. Good idea. That makes engine speed the main point of my question. I was under the impression that the engine needed to be revved @2000 during the seafoam suck-up. But your experience shows that's not necessary.
Hmm... maybe because you're introducing seafoam via smaller volume delivery method, idle speed works just fine.
I'm going to seafoam in the Spring, and was originally planning on using the brake booster line, but I like this approach better. Thanks, Chernmax.

If you try pulling on the hose it actually tightens down harder because it's contracting, best way is to use a small flat tip screwdriver and PUSH the hose back and is will expand.
