Some help needed.

Alright, so about 4 days ago I went to start my car and it would start sputtering and wouldn't start. After the third attempt, it got it running and it hasn't given me any problems for the next couple of days so I just ignored it. I even drove to central jersey and back with no problems so I started thinking the car was alright. This morning, the car started fine but within about 1/4 mile into the drive to the gym, the car shut off and the steering wheel became locked. Luckily I was able to turn the steering wheel enough to pull over onto the shoulder and I got it started after the third attempt. The "Service Engine Soon" light is now lit up. What could my problem be?

From: Florida /Wade County !
there so many aspect to this , was the tank Full or Half ? bad Fuel ?
Weather could have screwed with the MAF sensor, bad o2 sensor , clogged cat,
Any Dashboard lights came on ?Bad fuel pump...

When you were starting the car , was the starter cranking up ? did it grind ?

So many variables and not enough info.

Try to find a Autozone or Advance and pull the Codes and go from there.

get the code pulled from Autozone and post it. More than likely you have CPS "Camshaft Position Sensor" issue. Sounds like what happened with me. Let us know the code so we can give you better direction.
