Vortech Super charger on 6th gen max?

What are the possibilities of this fitting? My buddy is trying to convince me into getting an sc for my car and the vortech was the first that came to mind... im pretty sure they dont make any strictly for the maxima but i know they make one for the g35 which has the same engine in it... what do you think about it fitting inside the compartment? do you think it would work?

You would need to come up with a pulley, shaft and bearing setup because our motors are mounted differently in the engine bay. Not the easiest task but possible for sure. Our pulleys are on the left hand side where as the 350Z and G35 motors have the pulley system facing the front of the vehicle. A supercharger kit is available but its an overseas special that you can't seem to find anywhere for purchase.

granted this is an altima, but the engine bays are very similar.

I believe if you swap the timing cover for one from a vq30 you can use the stillen/vortec setup. A hand full on 4th gen guys have done 3.5 swaps and carried over the SC. It can be done, check the 4th gen section for better details

there was a member here "Bushness" who SWORE that he had a S/C'd Maxima. even went so far as to say that he slept on the couch because his wife was mad at how much money he was spending on the S/C set up.

he insisted that he had the car up and running.

i requested pic, numerous times and finally just called him a freakin liar.

never heard from him or saw the car

You can get anything to fit. The problem is, your tranny won't be able to handle it... Not for very long at least.

If you do that then we wouldnt be able to run our vtc cams gears / cams..

theres a reason the a32 guys use the VQ35DE with 30 timming covers,
they also need to use spacers as well and they cant take full advantage of the 3.5 manifold , thats why they do the BOP and SSIM and 3.0 timming cover.

there are other ways but it will be custom, our shop already looked it a very few setups and how "we" would build a S/C kit.

Altho there isnt enough interest for us

I know it's not a 6th gen, I was simply trying to show those curious enough that it is possible and there are options using off the shelf components

Not an expert or nothing, but why not try a rear mount turbo..STS makes those universal kits, I mean everyone has there opinion on it, but could be worth a shot..Since we already don't have much room under the hood, a rear mount make sense..And the kit isn't to expensive either, 3k I think..

it would probably be cheaper to go turbo and more fun rather than trying to make a vortech S/C fit your car. my max had a v2 kit on it, and while it was definately faster, it just wasnt that kick you in your pants power. too linear.
