Awesome! That was a big help! I got the switchbacks installed, now I'm just waiting on the resistors. I'll just have to deal with the fast blinks until they arrive from eBay. I went to Radio Shack and they didn't have any! Can you believe that?!

LED front blinkers with LED tail lights you need 2 6ohm resistors.

Install them in the rear behind the tail light (not in the trunk) They hang down in the open area behind the bumper nicely and don't touch anything, because they do get hot. And they will be hidden and out of the way...

Here's the pic from the STICKY I did on LED lights in the tails:

I bought mine from www.autolumination.com and have always been happy with their product, just upgraded to the 60 LED towers and they are awesome.
Thanks for the Resistor 101 lesson. I missed it the first time around.

Alright, back to resistor 101, as I managed to fail somehow. Here's what I've got:

60 LED switchbacks in the front
Full LED taillights from ezkoncepts in the rear

I installed 1 6 ohm resistor on the left side (1 wire to the solid green wire and the other to the black wire - 04 SE) and tried it and it still blinked fast. What am I doing wrong?? Do I need a 3 ohm resistor instead?

PLEASE HELP! Thanks.

What bout these?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Red-1...Q5fAccessories

What do you think about these? Are they going to be bright or are they just a cheap ebay option? If they are not bright or good where should I get LED tails?

To answer your question, no it does not. The stealership has to prove that what you installed caused the problem you are bringing it in for. If you change your (OE) air box to an aftermarket CAI (Cold Air Intake) they have to prove that the (new) air to fuel ratio caused the internal problems with your engine. Highly unlikely, but you get the idea.

A blown fuse. Any other lights not working. Like parking lights? Check fuse #'s 34 and 41 in the IPDM. The IPDM is located under the hood next to the windshield washer. Take the beauty cover off and you will see it.

I'm surprised nobody has modded the blinker/relay yet to avoid installing resistors. I've seen some creative stuff on other fora.

If only there was a relay to modify/replace. All the lights in the car is controlled by the BCU. The click you hear with the turn signal is just a clicker to indicate audibly that the turn signal is blinking.

Aside from rapid blinks, are there any other downsides to running an LED blinker without a resistor? Reduced life of bulb or something?

Just to digress a bit, I love the sound of you mufflers! Good Job! I got the same effect by removing and changing the stock y-pipe and resonator....with NWP Via Plate, NWP engine spacers and AEM CAI....nice sound all around!

Anyway, I just installed BRIGHT WHITE LED DRLs and they look great...I will post pictures as soon as I can hook up my phone and download the pics.

I would like to know after all this time has anyone had any problems with blown switchbacks? I have been reading and hearing all sorts of bad news about these things not lasting nearly as long as they should...in some cases as short as one month!

Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. Hey Smithsole...you've had a lot of experience with these....any news on their reliability?

Thanks for the heads up!

Also I have a friend that installed the Bright white LEDS in his car )Festoons etc.) Man is it bright...wow! I do like it even though you need sun glasses! LOL!

I have the switchbacks from VLEDs...the larget (and most expensive) set they make. Mine were shot in about 6-7 months. I sent VLEDs and email, and they replaced them both for me. Mine may/may not have been related to some grounding issues that I was having. So far, I haven't had any issues with the new ones.

Why wouldn't you add in the resistors? It took me longer to pull my trunk carpeting out of the way than it did to install the resistors....:noidea:

pretty sure it's stated here...

you can do 6 ohm per corner.

or if you do all 4 corners, you only need a 3 ohm resistor on one pair to work all 4.

example... I only did LEDs in the rear, so i added a 6 ohm resistor on the left rear, and right rear.

but now i'm doing the front. I could:
A: remove my old resistors and just replace those with a pair of 3 ohm resistors since all 4 corners will be LED.

but I went with
B: keep my 1st pair of 6 ohm in the rear and add another pair of 6 ohm for the front.

HI jsmithsole, now that you've had your switchbacks in for about a year, have you had any issues with them burning out. Do you sell these? I also notice in you picture that your DRLs are on at the same time as the main lights...how did you wire this up plz?

Thanks!

First off I know, thread back from the dead but I have had no luck searching here or from the google machine.

I just installed some switch back front LEDS and replaced my rear brake and turn signals with LEDS. Also installed the proper 3 OHM 50W resistors (load equalizers) on the rear in parallel. This has fixed my hyperflash issue but now produced a new problem. When my light stalk is in the off position or auto during the day and I put a left or right turn signal on, my display unit blinks in unison with the turn signal, as well some of the LEDS on the right side turn on in the front and rear. Vice versa if I put the right turn signal on.

This problem doesn't manifest itself at night in auto mode, or during the day when I turn it to marker lights. I figured it was potentially a bad ground so removed the left side and grounded the resistor to the body and till have the problem.

Anyone have any ideas?

Either a defective bulb, small short between the turn signal and parking lights, or defective BCU. If it doesn't do it with the stock bulb then it is a faulty LED bulb. If it doesn't do it without the load resistor then you are not doing something right with its connection.

After your message prompted some more in depth investigation I found no issues with the resistors but the bulbs seem to be the issue. Thanks.

Resister problem.

I installed the switchback LED bulbS in the front. I put a 50watt 6 ohm resistor on both sides in the front, and they still hyper flash. I don't have led taillights. Any help? Thanks.

6ohms is what you want. Either you tapped into the wrong wires or your grounding point is not sufficient.

Yeah, more then likely it's the wrong wires. Shouldn't be having that problem if you installed them correctly.
