Turbo Exhaust Change
OK I recently went to install my new tranny Valve body done by Level 10 transmission and ran into a little snag. Wasn't really an issue when I had the tranny rebuilt but it was an issue now because I realized the piping was to tight to remove without again dropping the subframe. Anyway spent about 15 minutes under the car, drew up a new idea and took it over to my broz custom exhaust shop and he made the changes. Here are the before and afters.
Old one piece configuration:

Nice. It also looks like the overal length of the manifold>turbo piping is slightly shorter than before. It might or might not help with spool time, and even if it does, it's probably too small of a change to notice. But thats just another thing to compare when you're bored.

^If it is a completely new piece, only a 6th gen with hotshot manifolds will be able to use the old one. Stock manifolds wont work. And other gens wont work because of the different undercarrage design.
(you probably already know, but I mentioned it before any other 4th/5th gen guys got too happy)

You're correct but what many people also miss is that a good muffler shop with custom fab tools could probably make a decent setup to marry to headers cheaper than it would be to buy a prefabbed set with a name stamped on it constructed of mandrel bent piping! I drew my new setup on a napkin, told him how I wanted the new welds, flanges, and he went to town, extremely happy... ![Wink](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
