I'm driving 20 mph or faster and foot is barely on accelerator, I then step on the gas enough to make the transmission shift to a lower gear but as soon as i step on the gas pedal i hear a slight ping. Dealer said that it is spark knock and that it is not uncommon. I told them I never heard the noise before. Dealer says use better gas and I informed them that I ony use Sunoco 93 octane. Any ideas or suggestions, the dealer said all of the timing specs are set correctly and throwing no error codes. Its just really annoying and I'm afraid I'm doing damage to the engine. The dealer just recently had to replace my VVT sprocket and chains and tensioners because the VVT sprocket was bad and making a clicking noise.
