for 2007-2008 years

i got 2007 max with 41000 miles with CVT..and i been hearing a clicking/ticking noise between 1500-2500 rpms..but when i push the gas little nd it shifts i dont hear anything after that just between 1500-2500 in CVT mode. if i turn the AC on it clicks more..u can only hear it when u drive by a crubs or walls...is anyone else have this issue? i drove by a 09 or 10 max nd i didnt hear anything..but when i let my friend drive mine i can heared it with windows down..

Yeah I hear clicks here and there at random times. That's a CVT for ya but at least we have a 120k warranty on ours. You should be worried if you feel it slip from one "gear" to the next. That means that your trans is going out but you shouldn't worry about that. Your shiz is fine.

And yeah, you have to get used to some of the weird azz noises that comes with a CVT. I swear I was paranoid as hell for the first year wondering if there was a problem with my ride.

bu i been told by other member that it chould be some exhuat shield thats broken but it doesnt make sense to if the shield is broken then why it only makes noise between 1500-2500 rpms y not at all times

That might be a possibility. I have no idea how to check it though and suggest that if this is REALLY bothering you. Then an option is to go to the dealership and pay a ridiculous fee for a diagnostics test OR you can get an oil change ($50) and they will do a 5-point inspection that is included in the deal.

I would go with the second one since the dealership is always trying to make some extra cash and will check EVERYTHING to see if there are problems. Doesn't mean that you have to go along with it but it gives you the opportunity to find out what's wrong. Free of charge.

The exhaust flange is usually the culprit.

There was a TSB floating around here somewhere to get it fixed through Nissan.

I typed Exhaust TSB into the search box...

http://forums.maxima.org/6th-generat...ccelerate.html

About halfway through the thread there are pics of what is probably causing your noise.

Don't change it, our cars require a special transmission fluid from the dealership. If your going to get some then go there. On another note, that's really not going to fix your problem.
