Radiator fans doesn't come on and temp gauge goes up when sitting still. Relay checks good! Any suggestions

Seems like your thermostat is good. Maybe the problem then is with the fan. These are the options that are given if your temp rises and pertains to the fan

-Harness or connectors (The cooling fan circuit is open or shorted.)
-IPDM E/R (Cooling fan relay)
-Cooling fan

From the service manual:

3. CHECK COOLING FAN OPERATION
Without CONSULT-II
1. Perform IPDM E/R auto active test and check cooling fan motors operation, refer to PG-22, "Auto Active
Test" .
2. Make sure that cooling fans-1 and -2 operate at each speed (Low/Middle/High).
OK or NG
NG >> Check cooling fan control circuit. (Go to EC-506, "PROCEDURE A" .)

no heat

sorry for posting here but I don't have enough posts to start a new thread. I changed my coolant this evening but now I have no heat. I am currently letting the car idle on the ramps with the radiator cap off. I read on other threads that this is how you get the air out. ANyone else have any suggestions.

Thanks,

Ron

This spill-free funnel makes burping the cooling system go so much faster. When you rev the engine with the radiator cap it splashes coolant out and lets a lil bit of air back in the system. The funnel allows you to rev the engine at a higher rpm with no splash to get the air bubbles out of the heater core.

Also have fan issue

I'm having sort of the same problem. My fans won't run, except when I turn on the ac they run at low speed. If I disconnect the temp sensor plug the fans run at high speed but I loose my temp gauge and my check engine light comes on. Any ideas? Thanks

Replace sensor, same problem.

I replaced the coolant temp. sensor, same issue. I've been driving with my ac on so the fans at least run at low speed. Any suggestions?

hello all,
I need help on draining and flushing out old coolant and replacing with new coolant. What namebrand should I use? I am tired off giving all my money to the dealer so I am reaching out to everyone on this wonderful and informative forum.
Thank you,
BlAKE

Cooling Fans 2006 Maxima

I am having cooling Fan issues. Started by suddenly no fans running at all, and of course no air conditioner, as far as i know if the Compressor is on the Fans should be running period. Then after turning the car off and sitting for a while it started working normally again and so did the airconditioner. Now the Compressor seems to work normally while the car is moving but if you stop in traffic it seems to stop blowing cold air even though the compressor light is on, and the car begins to heat up. I am suspect of the cooling relays since the first incident where i had no fans and no air even driving.
Any ideas how to narrow this down. the car has 63,000 miles.
I hate to give the dealer hundreds of dollars to replace a sensor or temp guage.
