Converting 05 Bumper to 07-08

Hey guys! I have a really quick question. I would like to convert my 05 bumper to the 07-08 style. In doing so, would I have to modify anything? Any help with this would be appreciated! thanks!

thanks hero782. I was involved in a car accident and the body shop is giving me the BS saying that they would have to modify the entire front end to make it work. I immediately got the sense that they were BSing me so I wanted to double check with you guys....

I't does bolt right up but you will need to modify the hood or replace it because it leaves a gap are talking front or rear?

The lights, hood and grill are all different from the 6th to the 6.5 gen.

dude,

the 6.5 front bumper cover will bolt on, however, the 6.0 hood wont line up properly. you will have a gap in the grill and the 6.0 headlights will have a gap as well.

my personal opinion.. just wait until MAX2DAMAX is done with the new bumper.. or do what MissMiami did

Which bumper front or rear?

For the rear make sure you remove the support brackets from the old bumper to use on the new bumper! No modification required...

For the front, you need Hood, Grill Headlights and bumper, you also have to rewire the headlights differently.

For the rear, you just need the bumper.

I am having a chance to either repair rear bumpers chips and dents. The budget I have set aside is about $500 for this work. However I would like to bolt in 07-08 rear bumper in my 04 maxima.

Should I buy new/used 07-08 rear bumper and have it painted? Or should I buy pre-painted 07-08 rear bumper that some pleces offers? Or let's say my $500 budget that I have set aside is sufficient to get 07-08 rear bumper for my 04 maxima?

Sorry but I am not too much into 04 maxima body parts mods to know my own answers. Thanks in advance!!!

If you can afford it go 07. Have you researched pricing? There's a bunch on EBAY, avg price unpainted, $180. You could probably then get it painted within your budget.

Yeah I actually looked at those on ebay last night and I was quoted $250 to get one painted locally. That will cost little under $450 and perfect for my budgest.

However I am not sure those 07 after market ones are equal to OEM quality. Besides that, will they bolt right in or I need to buy something else as well? Also any tips or help on removing old one and bolt new one right in there? Thanks for reply though...

Kissed the metal railings last night and rear bumper has gone.

Oh well....it was due for repair due to chips and dents.....now I better get the 07 one.

Got the quotes somewhere from $550 to $720 for 07 bumper to get it installed.

Unless someone has for sale.........my paint code is KY1

why dont you get the customized bumper for the 07 which directly bolts on to the 05 model done by mad2damax? you dont have to change the headlights hood or anything. i think its the best way to go.
