04 maxima transmission transplant

so my tranny went out too

but i went ahead and saved up and am buying a Brand new tranny or 10k miles or less with a shift kit installed already

so my question is

Can a 05/06 Maxima tranny direct fit into my 04 maxima 5 speed auto tranny ?

is it the same or will there be any complications

I think as long as it is a 5sp it will be ok. It's actually better to get a later build date tranny because they work out the issues.. BTW, how much did u spend on it with the shift kit?

So my question is with the shift kit did that solve all of your problems with the hard shift in low gears? If so, what else did you do besides put on the kit, replace all fluids, filter, entire valve body?

Physically it will bolt up fine but the wiring on the later model is different. The transmission control module changed on the 05 model. Major wiring difference in the 04 and 05 model prevent this from being an easy swap. You cannot just plug in the later TCM either because the entire wiring harness is different.
