memory seats! one for the experts here

I recently got a viper alarm system installed into my car, I went the cheapy rout and had a guy (15years experience) install it. i had him prove it, he's the boss at audio express has been for 13 years and worked 2 somewhere else. i know i shouldn't have let a private party touch my car, I've learned my lesson and wont do it again.

anyways my memory seats stopped working! there is no power going to them. i was there when he installed the alarm system, he didn't touch or tap into any wires related to the seats, mirrors, steering wheels.

all the functions work independently of each other, but the memory option is just dead, those green lights don't go on when you press the buttons. i did a search and only came up with something referred to as BCM body control module. and another result said its due to disengaging the power, and to let the car sit for an hour with no juice. <-- cant see why that would work unless there is a default reset when you do that, but then it should default only after a few seconds of being disengaged.

anyone here know what happened or more importantly how to fix it?

Go into the menu settings on your dash (stock radio), and turn on the "auto" feature for the seats.

I tried that. everything is on. auto slide seats back, auto lift steering wheel upon entry.
are you talking about the secrete menu options? from what i know, there is nothing in there regarding seat memory.

my problem is the memory presets. 1 & 2 don't work, they don't even light up, like there is no running power going to them.

im trying to figure out if the dude cut the power, or if there is something i need to do to reset the car and make it work.

Maybe open up your door panel, and see if he unplugged the memory buttons. Assuming that he did the installation properly, he would've needed to go into the driver door to hook up the keyless/factory arm & disarm. That would've required him to pull the door panel, and disconnect some plugs.

looks like im gunna have to go to the dealer and get jewed for a simple wiring problem. i competently work on cars, but who knows what wires they piggybacked onto to save on mass production.

When I bought my 04 SE a month ago the memory panel didn't work. Please post any results you find.

Does the seat, and steering wheel still move when you get in, and out of the car? Or is everything non-functional?

the only thing non functional are the two preset buttons and the 'set' button that programs the presets.
im going back to the guy tonight to see if he can fix it, if not, then ill call nissan tomorrow and ask a technician if its a programming thing or something that can be reset and post my findings.
