u can try a bottle of transmission treatment for an autoparts store for the meantime, but the guy is right. the transmission is going out. you will need to rebuild it if that's your only option. Good luck, not even i would actually go for it and rebuild a transmission out of this car.

Damn....another maxima did hit the fan...

Buddy, just don't release the clutch/brake pedal until your gears completely engaged before you take off. That will save some hard bangs on your transmission. Try to drain/refill fluid at least once if not twice. These are all methods to borrow more time until your transmission goes out. Read the sticky for transmission fix. You will find all kind of answers.

sounds like your mounts. that's one of the symptoms.

check your motor & transmission mounts, they might be bad.

THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM. your transmission is fine.

Also, don't add any additives to your transmission, only Matic-K period!

the only think I can tell you is to order online.
you are going to need buy 4 qts, but you are only going to use 3 1/2. if you want to do change the oil.
Did you check your fluid, is it red or brown?
by the way, what year car?

I suggest changing the mounts before opening up the transmission.

The oil is the cheapest thing you can do.

Remember you said the car drives fine, it's just when you are changing from P R N D.
That says mounts all the way, oil change is a good idea because you want that tranny lubricated constantly.

Good luck.
