Has anyone here replaced front and rear engine mounts

So i went to the dealer for a oil change. I only went cause i had a coupon but anyways they did a multiple point inspection and found that my rear and front engine mounts were torn. They said it was very labor intensive so it would be about $1400 i said i would think about it. I have noticed though that my car does shake when i accelerate and brake and it also pushes to one side. Are there symptoms from the engine mounts you think? any suggestions and estimate to how much it actually cost would be appreciated thanks.

The best way to check is to remove one and see what it looks like. The front is not too hard but the rear is a pain.

Engine mounts

I also need engine and transmission mounts, found WWW.PartsforNissan.com they have excellent prices spent $396.66 on three mounts. Compared to $535.30 at the dealer. Saved $138.64 with free shipping in the month of March. BTW I also need to get Transmission Rebuilt.

I got three mounts; front belt side, front radiator side, and transmission bushing/mount, shipped $330 from factorynissanparts.com , Partsgeek.com was close at $360. Love the intrawebs, saved me a small mint on parts. Oh, and IMO go to an independent shop rather than the stealership. Labor cost should atleast be less.

5.5th Gen are easy as hell and con be done in about an hour, front and rear!!!!!! Guess it a little harder with that cradle but I still can't see $1400 in labor alone....Fly me out there and pay me $800 labor, I'll do it!

Did your car make a clicking sound when you drove over uneven pavement or even small pot holes. My Maxima makes a sound as if something is loose, took it to the dealer and they said one of my motor mounts is cracked, but I dont think that is it.

Yeah stealerships is right. I paid double for parts because they are dealer only parts. Go to small mechanic that deals with foriegn cars, labor will be about $75 an hour. Probably 8 hour job on all data

i took my 06 se manual in because is shook under hard acceleration and was told they'd like to start with the engine mounts and go from there. Now since they have the electronic senors, does it make a difference if i just replace the bushing and put in racingline mmi? the dealer said the whole thing would need to be replaced? $1200 btw

^^^ as long as all the rubber is still there and there are no gaping holes missing from the insert the MMI's will help correct the issues you are having. Also you can replace the mount with manual mounts and not throw any lights. It'll perform better but might now be as smooth. Manual mounts are 1/4 the price of the auto mounts

is there anything other than the rubber bushing on the engine mount that would need to be replaced (sensors, wire harness, etc)? should i purchase new mounts, remove the rubber bushing and install the mmi's? would that be the route to take?
