eBay Replacement Headlight Assembly

Just wondering if anyone has an opinion about these ebay headlight assemblies.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Nissan-Maxima-04-...-/110654572778

New, aftermarket, meets OE spec.

Any reason not to get them? My headlights are starting to show their age and I figure this would make the front end look like new again.

The light looks like it could be the replacement kit. However, it does not tell the intensity of the bulbs which come with the kit. This may result in one bulb be dimmer than the other. Now if you were going to replace both then I would say give it a try. If the lights are not what you expected, pack them and send them back for a refund. Thats my opinion. I would also recommend talking to a certified mechanic who has great experience with the maxima and verify it is a great buy. Hope this information helps!

Not sure what you mean by "showing their age", if they're just getting yellow then I'd recommend just re-polishing them to get that new shine, I'd never actually replace the whole headlight unless it got cracked. Aftermarket headlights don't fit quite the same no matter how "OE" they claim to be. You'll see some gaps and misalignment for sure. You can use headlight restoration kits and you'll achieve a close to new look, and it really does change the look of the whole car.

Aftermarket headlights for the most part suck, so just polish up your current ones and call it a day.

I bought a pair from ebay, to reconstruct my front end but they only cost me $99 each. They look just like the OEMs but the wiring system was different. You can always change the wiring harnesses from you OEM lights. They take a different Bulb. Besides that i was very happy. I would call up the vendor first to make sure the bulbs are the same as EOM unless you don't care. Also, I checked Pepboys to make sure they carried bulbs and they did.
PS: I just checked ebay, and I noticed they went up about $30 average since last summer.
I would buy the $129 ones and if the wiring is different you can always switch the wiring from you EOMs.
Here the website I bought them from.

Well as much as I like the way the 2011 looks, I don't like the payments I'd have to make on it.

So you have to modify the wiring harness on the vehicle to plug them in? Sounds like its not a great solution.

you don't need to, it will plug right in.

I'm talking about the Halogen bulbs, it's a different setup.

How so? Did they switch to a dual filament bulb rather than use the 9012 and a shutter system?

Be careful with the replacement headlights. Some of them that resemble the one on the link you provided usually lack in quality, meaning that the plastic is less durable and the projector lenses are flat instead of round. So on and so forth...

You should either paint the headlights or actually get some REAL OEM headlights that are on ebay. Just look around and you'll get them for a good price.

Since I couldn't find a used set of '02/'03 housings for my '01, I picked up some fleabay projector headlights (with the halos) and I'm quite satisfied. Fitment is not perfect, but not bad at all. I did the HID conversion on them. At first I thought they sucked but after properly adjusting them, they're great. No glare compared to converted stock lights. There is a bit of scattered light rays but IMHO, still much better than the converted stocks. Appearance-wise, car looks amazingly nicer. I know it's a different generation, so just take for what it's worth to you.
