Sounds like you got the infamous whine noise. Might be due to three things: timing chain, alternator, and A/C compressor.

It sounds pretty loud since I'm assuming your driving around with the windows up. You should head to the dealership soon (if you got under 60k than your covered under the powertrain warranty) or a good mechanic and have them diagnose those three problem areas I listed and you'll be able to know what to fix.

Could a clogged exhaust make that sound? It sure sounds like a restriction of some sort....

they car is an 2008 i just have catback exhaust on it. so i dont know if its the exhaust to somthing. but for some reason i think it has somthing to do with the fuel system since i took it to dealership for the same problem and the recommend and fule injector service i stopped for little while and came back agian.

If they say it's a fuel intake issue, try the Seafoam in the intake suction line. There's a few threads about the process. Might help at least loosen up a few things and get them blown out. It's not as robust as a fuel system clean, but it's bound to get 80% of what the dealership could get out...

Your right it sounds like something is restricted you may have carbon buld up if the dealer cleaned it and the noise went away then it may still be dirty what type of gas are you using?

Well, I didn't specifically say that it's the timing chain. It could also be the A/C compressor or alternator. It doesn't sound to bad if you had the phone under the hood itself. But, that might mean that it's the start of something.

Like i said before in my last post. Unless you have it diagnosed than you won't really know what it is. You definitely don't wanna fix the wrong thing and have the whine still there. That's all I'm saying.

I never heard any whine, what I heard was the engine choking on itself...sounded like a desel truck on a downshift or something...I think that's the sound he's referring to...
