How do i install a kill switch for parking lights?

As some of you already know, i put red leds in my parking lights/blinkers up front. they are most likely illegal and i want to install a kill switch for them so that if i pass a cop at night i can kill the red lights quick while keeping my headlights on. I installed the resistors in the back of my car and i was hoping i could wire a switch from the front. the three wires in the front socket are blue, green/orange, and red/black. does anybody know which of these three wires are for the steady parking light? (if any) and if i could just tap in a kill switch to it? would this disable my blinkers as well? any help would be appreciated thanks!!

I think this is what your looking for:
Car Parking Lights Positive Wire (+): Red/Blue
Car Parking Lights Positive Wire Location: At vehicle fuse panel.

Find the wire you need, id put the lights on and find the fuse, go from there. Splice in a switch to the wire and voila.

Well I simply searched around looking for a wiring diagram for a maxima, and found that. Thats the positive wire, because theres a red/blue, maybe its red or blue? depending on your year or something? Id just pop off your fuse panel and check and see which one is the parking lights.

Just go directly behind the fuse. Logically, if the fuse blows, the lights will not work right? So find the wire that running power to the fuse, and splice that. This way, when you flip the switch off, it would be similar to blowing a fuse persay, cutting power to the lights.

no problem! I did this to tap into wire for my boost gauge light. Just found a powered line in my fuse box and added it into that. Worked like a charm.

just a heads up man, my friend put some red lights in his car and was caught flashing them by a cop. He went to jail that night was on bail for $50,000 (had to pay $5,000 and promise to appear in court or it would be $45,000), his car got a 30 day impound (at $280 dollars a day) and got a misdemeanor for impersonating a cop. it is stated in the vehicle code that any red or blue lights is illegal and punishable on a car. what my buddy thought was a funny idea, landed him in some deep ****. he wasn't even trying to pull anyone over (THAT night). but the fact that he had the ability to make a false arrest was enough for a conviction.

Police impersonation is an act of falsely portraying oneself as a member of the police, for the purpose of deception. In the vast majority of countries the practice is illegal and carries a custodial sentence.
Fake vehicle: The imposter places lights, decals, or other equipment on a personal vehicle to disguise it as a police car or enable the offender to make arrests or traffic stops. <--- what they used against him in court.

A custodial sentence is a judicial sentence, imposing a punishment (and hence the resulting punishment itself) consisting of mandatory custody of the convict, either in prison (incarceration) or in some other closed therapeutic and/or (re)educational institution, such as a reformatory, (maximum security)

so be careful bro. i'd say its not worth it to stretch the legal limit on this one. another buddy of mine got let off on a warning and 180 dollar fix-it ticket because his head light had a SLIGHT and i do mean SLIGHT tinge of red to them. the cop said it was impersonating a police officer as well, but because the state would have a hard time proving that he put them in intentionally for a red light effect. your RED LEDs are pretty intentional. so be careful man... i don't wanna see those dirty pigs ruining another persons life for a stupid *** reason like that.

who would wanna impersonate a cop anyways. they are like the very bottom ugly face on a totem poll. the face that gets all dirty and muddy when it rains.

Remove those lights. 1 youll get in trouble, 2- people when they see red, they expect to see the back of a car. You will confuse people, get arrested, and have an accident.
