Engine Swap

SO Im gonna end up replacing my motor. Im wondering if a motor out of an 05 or 06 will bolt right up. Im thinking they should but want to know for sure before I buy anything.

It will drop right in, you'll be fine.

Very minor differences but the mounting points, etc. are the same.

yes it will bolt right up. no fab work is needed. have you found anyone to do the swap yet? where do you live? im looking to make some extra bucks if your in soCal

Yeah it will be me and my brother. My buddy will be swapping all the tensioners and chains while I have it out. But that all depends on what motor I get. Found one in a junk yard from a roll over but I have to find out if the motor was running upside down first.

Thanks for the input I had someone tell me it has to be the same make and model, I figured because motor mounts or something. I have gotten a lot of great info off this forum and people actually know their stuff here it seems.

No, they are wrong. You would use your current mounts and the motor wont matter whether it came from an MT/AT/SE/SL, etc. .
