New here!! 2006 SE

Well, I have had my Maxima for about a month & a half now. It's a 2006 black auto SE, had 83,XXX on it when I bought her. My past few cars have been Hondas, and I wanted something a bit bigger and i've loved the Nissan Maxima since like 1992. I can't post attachments for some reason, so I hope all these links work.

Crashed her into a pole a week after I got her. But I know a guy that does body work, and I had her back to normal pretty quick.

First thing I did was get a new grill to replace that hideous oversized chrome thing. I ended up going with the Ebay replica grill, which actually doesn't look too bad once you get past the fittment issues. I had to drill my own holes in it, and the 4 clips on the bottom of the stock piece were not there on the Ebay one. To get around that I drilled 2 holes and pulled some zip-ties through the slots where the stock clips pushed into (ghetto yes, but it works & can't be seen from the outside). I love the way it looks, but it's so big, and open that it looks like it is missing something. Thinking about getting some sort of Nissan or Nismo logo & attaching it somehow.

Next I wanted it to sound good, so I ended up picking up a Cattman exhaust from a fellow member on here. The look is awesome, but it is a bit quieter than I expected. I'm thinking about having the resonator removed
although I have read on the forum that it is not a good idea.

Future plans I have for her:

- Tint the windows (not sure what % yet)

- Lower it (most likely going with Eibach, unless someone knows of a set of springs that gives me more than 2" up front)

- Black out the entire car, I MEAN EVERYTHING (lights, rims, emblems....) I even thought about spraying the mufflers black, but that may be overkill.

And thats about it for this summer. Before winter hits, I will throw an alarm/remote starter on. Also thinking about grabbing the hybrid front bumper + lip...

Any feedback would be appreciated, positive or negative.

Clean ride man. Black is always one of the better colors for maximas. The grille looks good too, there's no need to get an emblem and put it in there. Looks fine without it, although I suggest painting it gloss black.

Also, good find on the exhaust. It's clean as hell, it'll look better once you do the murdered out theme.

I was thinking about leaving the grill the color it is, and painting my rims & emblems satin black to give the overall car some contrast. How do you guys think that would look?? I just think the entire car in gloss black would be tacky, not sure.

7 I got the pipes from a member on here. They were $330 including shipping.

Nice ride. Which dealer on ebay did you get the grill?

I ordered the grill from 'c-mod'.

& I agree, I think it will look good the way I have it in my mind, but i'll only really know when it's done. The way I had it planned, I should have had it done already, but my plans always seem to get road blocked.

Oh, and I'd like to get that roof spoiler also.

That will look good too, if you painted your rims, headlights, emblems, and roof trim sating black to match your grille than it will flow and have contrast to it.

This is the emblem I was thinking about attaching (somehow) to the middle of the grill.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/22008679@N04/5783751962/

I thought it was an official Nissan logo, but I noticed there are Toyota & others just like it, so i'm actually having 2nd thoughts now. To keep with the all-black theme (or murdered-out as some would call it) I would probably spray some film or lay some tint over it, that way you would have to be closeup to see the detail on it.

Just something to fill some of the space on the mesh.

Get ready to put about 2,000 dollars into repairs within the next year. That's what happened to me.

Nice ride though, man. Very slick.
