Change the orange/amber lighting in the dash

To start this thread, I think the stock orange/amber color is cheap looking, and ugly, and i want to change it.

So I picked up about 50 LED bulbs and have been changing every interior lighting that i can.

I've got white LEDs in;

all 4 doors
front dome lights (6 total)
rear dome lights (6 total)
that little slit next to mood roof control
glove box
trunk
driver and passenger floor lights
license plate lights
sun visor lights (took them out per gf request, it was too bright for her to see in the mirror to do her makeup.)

as it stands, other than the mirror lights, there are no more yellow/orange lights on my car. At night, the interior lights up like day and i love it.

now that i have the LED bug, i want to do something about the factory amber orange color that backs the info screen, air conditioning and audio controls. I want to completely do away with that orange/amber color and this is the last place where it exists.

I think i saw a thread around here where someone was able to change this color to blue, but i can't find it in a search.

is this even possible? is the lighting orange because of the color light bulb, or is it the plastic lettering that is orange?

any info on how and what to change would be great. I don't wanna go through the trouble of taking everything apart to see that the light behind everything is white and the orange color is coming from tinted plastic.

Not going to be much help here but I remembered that you gotta buy some sort of special paper for the gauges. This prevents "hot spots" since you don't wanna get everything done and it looking like straight shyt.

Also, be careful with this mod. I've read some people just messing shyt up trying to get something like this done.

KCMAXX's point is that if you did a search first, there wouldn't be a need for this thread since this has been discussed many times before. I searched for "dash color", which is what you are trying to change, and found this thread.
