Steering Wheel/Air Bag removal

Hey guys, im in the process aka project blackout (swapping out my frost interior to black).

what is the best way to remove/replace the steering wheel?

This seems kinda vague :

After you remove the 2 plastic caps on the side of the steering wheel and remove the bolts, the air bag should come off. Then maybe this helps.

Make sure to disconnect your battery and let it sit for 10-15 min

sorta off topic but i heard of a guy trying to take out his air bag... he crossed the wire tripped the airbag and got a flat head screw driver shoved into the side of his face.

also heard of a guy messing with some wires cut the wrong ones, the dykes acted as a jumper wire and he tripped all front rear and side airbags... boom, brand new car got totaled.

I recently did the same thing, (swapped frost to black) but cant find a heated wheel f/s.

All the wheels Ive seen w/o the bags have been non-heated.

KCMAXX, i got lucky! that was the same problem i had was to find a heated one. when it was posted with pix, it was listed as a 05 max. the nice thing was that the nissan part number sticker was there. i called up my friend and he cross referenced the part number (it apparently changed from 04-05) and it matched up perfectly! got it for ~$80

the biggest btich ATM is to find the rear parts (i have the elite package).

This is why you NEVER mess with the airbags with power to the car.

well how about this dude with long hair who opened up the hood to check his oil, hair laid down, got caught by alternator and pulled hair with the scalp in a matter of seconds? and hey, ever watched "1000 ways to die" on spike channel? hahaha
