I can't tell where exactly its leaking from, anyone know how much its gonna cost to replace or maybe fix the leak (seal replacement)? the pump seems to work although the reservoir was empty and i refilled it... ugh.. this crap sucks..

reservoir will empty if theres a leak. doesnt tell you where the leak is.

 

My 2007 Murano also had a slow leak. Be prepare to pay dearly for a hose. Similar price as the AC-hose in my 2004 Max.

Just found my '05 leaking today as well. Was driving and heard the whine / groan that is characteristic of low fluid. Checked the fluid, and it was down to the MIN line while hot. Added some fresh ATF, drove home, peeked under, and saw a pretty good leak (about 1 drip per second) but could not pinpoint where it was coming from. The reservoir area is dry on my car as well. The leak seems to be dripping down onto the pass side control arm and then falling to the ground.

Glad to know that it may just be a hose. I will be taking the car to the shop tomorrow morning as I don't have the time this week to get under there myself. I'll let you guys know tomorrow what it turns out to be.

 

Ok, turns out my leak is indeed coming from the high pressure PS line. Getting it done tomorrow for $320. A little more than I wanted to spend, but I guess I don't have much of a choice. Will update again tomorrow...

 

Had the same issue, and had just bought the car 2 mths ago. Nissan wanted $330 to replace the hose, as soon as they knew it was a free repair, they sealed the leak instead. So far so good. They said if it continues, they'll replace the hose

 

High pressure line was changed, PS leak is gone. Next on deck: Brakes, rotors, precats, engine mounts, swaybar endlinks / bushings.

 

I'm at the shop now I just replaced my summer wheels with the winter wheels and I noticed some dark fluid buildup on the frt passenger lower control arm
I did not see any on the driver side
However I don't feel or hear any differnce with the steering
I guess I will find out soon

 

Turned out to be a torn CV boot on the Passenger side that was leaking on the ft passgenger lower control arm. Sears wants $183 to replace the CV front axle shaft. They have to order the part, so I'll be back in the morning to get it replaced.

 

I havnt had mine replaced yet.... but I'm sure its the hose. its $130 for the hose alone from courtesy parts... i wonder how much more to install... this is lame....

anyways.....any good way of cleaning up the fluid that has leaked all over the bottom engine area? spray some gunk out and hose it down?

 

Brake cleaner would be your best bet! That **** works wonders!
