Keyfob

I have a 6.5 with the intelligent key. I got the about a year ago and as I was cleaning the inside of the car a couple weeks ago. I found a keyfob underneath the cup holders. I know that when I bought the car, the dealer had to buy a new key from nissan. I think the car had been repossessed so I only have 1 key for the car. I put a new battery in the keyfob that I found and it doesn't work. Is there any way that I could reprogram it or do I really need to take it the stealership? Also, could the car have had remote start? I have heard of some places hiding a spare key in the car instead of using a bypass unit.

I think the only way to re-program it is through the stealership. Might be wrong though but, I highly doubt it.

My daughter had a similar situation with her Altima... dealer charged a reasonable $35 to program the car for the additional key.

Thanks, $35 is not bad at all
