FUEL INJECTION System by Nissan.
FUEL INJECTION System by Nissan.
Hey guy's, Hope everybody is well, I havent been on the site for sometime. I have a question for you all. I went to the nissan dealership and I saw they offered a service for Fuel Injection Cleaning. Whitch they recommend every 15,000 miles. It cost. $140.00 to have it done. He told me instead of running a bottle of liquid through my gas tank they actually hook up a machine and let it run for a period of time and it's actually better for the car then the bottles of injection cleaner you can buy at autozone etc. What do you guy's think about all of this and do you guy's think this is something necessary I should do on a regular maintenance basis?
Thank you in advance.
Thank you in advance.

not saying it doesn't work, but a bottle of sea foam will cost 8 bucks and will clean those injectors like no ones business. all nissan does is tap into the fuel lines and direct inject their product. if you ask me there is no difference running product from the fuel lines in the hood than having it run in the fuel lines from the gas tank. as long as you are running an effective concentration from the gas tank there is no advantage. They just make their BS service sound cool and necessary to those who don't know what an injector does.
scam
every 15k? bs.. makes me mad when companies can't make an honest buck but get away with it. we call them stealerships for a damn good reason.

Man I love the Remote Start. One of my Fav Mods yet besides the Led Tail Lights. Dude it's so nice having the luxury to come out side in the morning when it's cold as heck out and the car engine is all warmed up along with the inside heated, Couldn't ask for anything better really! Not to mention it's just PIMP

love it!! nothing else can get me in the mood to appreciate a car like that.
unless you personally have a cutout in your car, and have timed it as many times as i have, ya can't say with any validity the cutout doesn't work.
I have a friend with a auto mustang gt moderatly modded. We are practically identical in terms of performance. if we both start at the same time we stick to each other down the strip like glue. when i am open, he gets a bit ahead of me to about 40mph (loss of back pressure and low end torque) but by the time we hit 60 i have caught up and am walking him. the top end benefits far outweigh the little low end torque loss.
i have even tried opening my cutout mid race. I start with it closed and when i hit 35 mph i open it. With this technique i put a car length in front of the mustang by 80mph and back to my control with the cutout closed we are dead evenly matched. This is my proof. there is no question about it.
you can argue the 0 back pressure in terms of performance with the 3" exhaust guys here.
I am getting tuned pretty soon. I will take dyno pulls with the cutout open and closed and post up the results. so stay tuned. ill start a thread about it.
secondly for those who aren't concerned with performance, the point in having a cutout is so that you are not limited to driving around a loud obnoxious car AT ALL TIMES. If you ever need to show up to an important event where the members of society look down upon loud modded cars, like maybe YOUR MOTHER, or your boss, work colleagues, maybe take your WIFE on a nice romantic dinner and movie, ect.. the hundreds of other times it would be inappropriate to blast around in a grocery getter, you can simply close the valve. i don't know about you, but when i am taking a trip on the freeway and your in that drone zone, i personally prefer to have the option of turning the noise off. you missed the whole point of installing a cutout. i have a beautiful sounding car that can convert back to stock for literally a fraction of the cost of a full setup. I spent over 900 on a full exhaust system in my last car. on this car? less than 200 and it sounds better than my last car did.

Dude, thanks for the essay, but who on earth are you debating with?
I am pretty sure STARR was talking about the fuel injection service, and not your cutout, since that was the original thread topic after all.
OP: Just about all places, from dealerships to lube joints, try to sell you on the fuel injection service. I never bother with it, I just run some chevron techron through the tank every so often. No ill effects and she still runs great!

so in that case i completely agree with star, unless you are running low octane i wouldn't worry about injection cleaner. and if you do, a bottle of seafoam has been proven to work very well.
oh................ hahahahahahahahaha MAN... that was such a fail... i guess this "essay" was inspired by all the cutout hates that i've run into on this web site.. LOL

another thing people don't realize is 10% ethanol which is grain/corn alcohol is working as a cleaning agent in the fuel system
yeah i heard about that too, but i also heard that its bad for our fuel lines, fuel pumps, intakes, o-rings and numerous other things.
a study at Berkly proved that ethanol added into gasoline causes a DECREASE in fuel economy.
as a cleaner=win
as an permanent additive=fail
