Drive Belt fix leaves me with no AC

Is it possible have the dealer change the drive belts on a '05 nissan maxima with 111K mile and during this process cause a leak of the AC?

I brought my car in to have the drive belts replaced since i hit 111K mile and when the dealer was done they said i had a small leak of the defrosters i believe. Now i turn on the AC and i can not get cool air to come out.

They want $300+ to fix this issue that they probably caused so my next question is this something simple that i can bring it to any repair shop to do for less?

I know for a fact that the AC was working just fine during the summer and even into the winter since it was used on ocassion during warmer days.

You gotta be specific about what they said was actually leaking...not really sure what a defroster is with respect to the pressurized AC components.

A for-instance, if the hoses going into the compressor were cracked/deteriorating, moving the compressor may have caused the line to leak, but years of use caused the deterioration, therefore the leak won't necessarily be their fault. It's a 7 yo high mileage car, you may be on the hook for the repair.
