hi everyone! i just purchased my first maxima and had the service engine soon light come on, i pulled p0420 code(Bank 1 catalyst efficiency). and after doing some research found that this could be a faulty cat converter? im not sure which cat converter is the culprit or the location. can someone provide some information as to the exact cat that needs replacement and location? any information would be appreciated. also hear a high pitch whine when accelerating could this be related to cat?

Hey, nice work putting thread in 6th gen section...so far you got better response in the 5th gen section, hmm...LOL....still think your bank 1 (rear)precat may be an issue...as for the whine maybe timing chains/shoes but just be aware the P0420 code + whine may be entirely separate issues, tough to say w/o additional info

I believe bank 1 is closest to the radiator. I never could get those straight.
