Will Rolling the fenders fix my problem?

Hey, I'm new to the forum and I have just been taking as much information in as possible but this weekend I put some new wheels/tires on my 04 Maxima and I'm having issues.

The rims are staggered, 20 x 8.5 in the front and 20 x 9.5 in the rear, with a +35mm offset all around.
The fronts are okay, but in the rear I'm using 275/35/20 tires and its rubbing a lot, even over small bumps! I did a little research prior to getting the wheels and I thought I would be okay but I guess I was wrong.

My question now is whether rolling the rears fenders will solve the problem?

I found a great post to help DIY at home:
http://my6thgen.org/f278/how-roll-yo...-method-10811/

Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

You can do a few things. Speaking outta experience. Its not always necessary the fender rubbing. Wish I had taken some pics. Jack up your car and take off your wheel and look to see exactly where's rubbing. I got 22's on mine and it wasn't the inner fender flaare, it was part of the bumper and the body that was making the contact with the rim.

What I did was shave as much as I could and it gave it a lot of clearence, then I used some rubber spacers that goes between the springs to give it a little stiffness. Then when I lowered the car I had to roll the fenders.

Here's a pic of the rubber bushings between the springs

If you roll your fenders and still rubbing, you might be rubbing on the bumper bracket. The bracket where the bumper screws in to the rear render.

You can also try going with a less wider tire, either a 265 or a 255.

Most people who run 275's use a 30 series tire.

Don't roll your fenders unless you know you are rubbing on them. More than likely you are rubbing on the fender liner that covers the rear bumper mount. And as stated, 275/35/20 is the wrong size for that wheel, drop the width and/or profile.

Hey guys, thanks for all the replies. Its rubbing on the fender (evident from the damage being done to the tires) but its also rubbing slightly on the bumper bracket.
So before I decide to roll the fenders I'm going to change the rear tires.
I would prefer to go 255/35/20 or should I go 255/30/20 becasue I don't want to run into issues as 20" tires aren't cheap..

I ran 255/35/20's on my 20x10's with zero issues. You'll be fine with them. Im currently running them on my 20x9's too.

You should be okay with 255/35, which are also cheaper than 255/30. And relatively speaking, 20" tires are pretty cheap, at least for 245/35 and 255/35 sizes, when you compare the prices for other sizes.
