My 1st Max (6th Gen) how bitter sweet..

hey peeps..i just picked up my 1st Maxima this weekend..
a 2006 Metallic Smoke with Black interior 6spd. 75k on the clock very; very clean!

its also my 1st full size sedan always had smaller cars..
my previous cars:
92 Sentra E - 4spd
98 200sx SE-R - 5spd
02 G20 Sport - 5spd
i also have a 70 240z sitting in my garage that needs to restored..

i went all the way to CO to get it and drove back 20hrs... i was amazed to how clean and unmolested the car is especially being from up north.. its a really nice car.. the drive back was very comfortable...

now for the bitter part.. about 2-3hrs into the road trip i hit a bird or something.. had to drive all the way home with a messed up windshield..

Wow. What an interesting story. But glad it was not worse. Call safelite and you would get a new windshield for like $170 installed. With lifetime warranty. That is what I have now when my windshield crack from a little rock and spread all the way on my windshield.

Nice find on the low miles and 6spd is even rarer on 6th gen then 5.5 gen. Let us know how your mods start coming along.

holy **** you sure did...reminds me of back when i had my 96 taurus, was racing a contour (battle of the very slow cars, but i won) and hit a big bird with my sideviewwhile my arm was out of the window, scared the **** out of me and broke the mirror in the housing, the housing was ok but it slammed it very hard. I just hope the bird was killed that bastard!

broken windshields

A similar thing happened to me some years back. Had a new Ford Explorer, and a Hawk flew out of the ditch carrying a nice juicy rat, w/ me doing about 60...I caught him center windshield. He flew off, leaving me w/ a dead rat on my hood, and a cracked windshield.

Welcome aboard and congrats on the purchase. I'd be fuming if a bird (or anything else) took out my windshield. You seem to have a good sense of humor about the whole thing.
