Just bought an 08, a few questions!

Hello everyone! I just bought an 08 today, it's black with black leather interior and I absolutely love it! I know it will last forever as I just sold my 96 maxima that had 380k miles on it. It still ran great but had exaust leak issues from the headers. Is there anything I should be concerned about with an 08 or anything to keep an eye out for? I read that the transmission in these is really good so I'm happy to hear that. It does have 80k miles on it so when should I look into buying new shocks? When should I do a transmission flush?

The tires are cupped and need replaced, they are 245/45/18 and those are expensive. Can anyone recommend some good all season tires that won't break the bank?

After browsing the site I plan to paint my headlight housings. I'd also like to do HID, I know absolutely nothing about them though. What exactly is a projector and do I need to do that too? Sorry if that's a stupid question but headlights elude me. Can someone recommend a good HID kit?

Thanks in advance! I'm super excited, I don't pick up my car until tuesday due to my bank being closed today and work + school on monday (long friggin day).

How much do you have budgeted for tires? Where do you live?

How much miles you have on the 08? Do you have maintenance records? If its under 60K, your timing tensioners will go eventually.

This problem exists with the 6th gen Max's, not the 6.5 Gens. This issue has been resolved for 2007-2008.

85k, no maintenance records. The car looks and drives as if its in great shape. How long do shocks/struts last in these things? I know my dad had to replace the ones in his 96 maxima too frequently it seemed

False. I put a 07 engine in my 04 and checked the tensioners. They were worn, nearly gone in bank 2 at 41K miles
Only the slack guide for the main chain has been fixed, not the tensioner shoes.

This is bank 2 tensioner, 41K miles, 07 motor. Not sure where you guys get this info on behalf "07-08 have this issue resolved."
