I am having the exact same problem with mine. I have tried unplugging and plugging each wire harness back in and also disconnected the battery in an attempt to reset the computer but nothing has worked. I'm ready to take this to the dealer The worst part is that everything worked until I took it apart to see about installing an aftermarket head unit. When I decided to wait and put the dash back together I lost that upper display and my dash says its 0 degrees and icy.

there are mulitiple plugs associated with the "brain" of the display unit. Open back up and check that you connected all plugs. I would also recommend checking the fuses. If both are good, disconnect your battery and reset the BCM. Sometimes it hangs up and things don't work correctly. Might need reset.

Thanks for the reply. I have taken the radio, climate controls, etc. out again and double checked the plugs. During this time I also disconnected the battery twice for about 10 minutes each time. Do I need to leave it sit unplugged longer than that? Any idea what fuse it could be? I took a quick peak at the fuses and pulled a few that I thought it could potentially be and all were good. I was going to put in an Alpine HU and I bought the adapter to keep the functionality of the stock display but I never got that far to plugging anything in and now I'm afraid to touch it. This isn't my first rodeo either for radio installs.

I have not resolved this. I took it to a buddy shop where I know some of the workers and they put it on the scan tool but couldn't pick up any related codes or issues. He said it was like the BCM wasn't there

At this point sounds like Nissan for a diagnostics might be your best bet. I have taken the head unit out multiple times without any issues except when I installed the aftermarket head unit and hooked the black wire to the black wire on the harness instead of a ground on the chassis. I gave up and went to Nissan.

This must be it!! Thank you very much, I will dig into it again. I have that NIRD01 unit but was afraid to mess with it after this fiasco.

So from reading that link it could be the wrong plug in the back of the display?

That's what I gathered. I hope to look into it tonight. I'll report back if it's fixed.

Well, that didn't work. They must have been referring to an extra plug on the NIRD-01. I took my dash apart again last night and there was no extra plugs hanging back there and believe me, I looked. I've found a used BCM for $40 but I hate to start throwing parts at it without knowing what it is. It's either that or off to the dealer.

Well like po8pimp said, you should just take it to Nissan for a diagnostics. That way you wont be throwing your money away on the wrong parts

Well I broke down and bought a used BCM off Ebay and hooked it up this weekend and it was NOT the fix. It's still doing the same thing so I guess it's off to Nissan.

Just heard back from Nissan regarding this issue... apparently there are 2 plugs behind the radio that will fit 2 spots and I had them reversed. I figured since everything had a home this wasn't possible because who would make 2 identical plugs in the same area? Nissan...

edit: $406 for the Nissan dealer to switch 2 plugs. Ridiculous. Hopefully this helps someone else out.
