You know I decided to just go for it. My car is black so it may be hiding some of the issues you've noticed. I thought it fit pretty good with the exception of the top corners with the hood. I think after I drilled all 4 holes it lined up better with the clips in. I've got it all painted but am trying to find time to do some wet sanding on it. I haven't had it back on since I painted it, I'll let you know though.

This was their response for compensation:

"We already give you a discount of 10% for the item. We appreciate you
working with us to resolve the issues. These are the options for you:

1) We will send you a partial refund of $50, if you can custom it to fit,
you can cut out the parts of the top panel as suggested. It should fit fine.

2) We will send you a partial refund of $75, if you take it to the auto body
shop to have it professionally installed.

3) We will send you a new replacement, if you return it.

4) We will send you a full refund, if you return it."

The 10% "discount" they gave me was $175 shipped, which is the same price I saw them selling the grille for on eBay. I don't think that counts as a discount. $50 for me to modify it or $75 for me to have an auto body shop modify it (which would probably cost even more than $75), AND to take detailed pictures and measurements of it so they can modify their mold? A new replacement with no refund if I return it or a full refund if I return it and get no grille after already helping them?

I'm not sure if it's worth my time to work on this thing for them, what do you guys think?
i personally say take the $50 and modify it, its better for you to get the $50 and keep the grille than returning it and expecting a refund and never see it.

After having it on for a day and having a chance to see how things go I can say they REALLY need to figure out a way to secure the bottom of the grill. After drilling 4 holes in the top it seems to be very secure there, but the bottom flops around and if I don't get something figured out with that it will surely be rubbing/scratching some paint. I'm going to take a look at it in the next few days to see if I can figure something out with the stock clip locations on the bumper or some foam strips where it touches the bumper when moving. For paying as much as we did for this thing it really needs modification. There is NO way I would recommend anyone buy this, at least not at the current price. Had I known I would need such modification I would've certainly got something else.

If I was you, I would still pursue them by showing them their ebay ad, if you say it is $175 shipped. I hope they do better and resolve your issue better.

The people with problems with the ezconcpt tail lights had to ship back to manufacturer and got new replacements. I wish someone can tell us if each Maxima owner paid for shipping back to manufacturer before getting the new replacement tail light. If that was the case, then I guess I will say then c-mod is ok with asking you to pay for shipping back so you can get a new one or a full refund.
They claimed to have taken the eBay ad down, but it seems they've put it back up. They sold a horrible product, they should own up to it.

They should've done a better job at fitting it in the first place. Instead of using people as guinea pigs for their project. Like I hinted with my first post. You should just return it and get your money back.
I took a gamble and lost is how I see it. I'm thinking of using the grill as a base for something else. I'd take my pictures down because they're going to use them for their benefit, but I'm sure they already saved them anyways.

I'm just going to keep the grille and maybe modify it. They will only reimburse me $50 if I continue to help them, and I'd rather not do that. So if I do modify it, it'll just be for me and that's it. C-mod is trying to use a customer to fix their ****, so I don't want any more contact with them.

Is it possible for you to use double-sided tape between the grille and bumper? I hope people understand the whole situation and don't support them until they prove they've fixed it. Even if the grille fits "okay" in some sense, it doesn't fit how they designed it and people shouldn't settle. At least wait until it's proven they've fixed it, and not just on an unmounted bumper but on an actual car. This should have been done before this was put on the market.

Yea I'm not happy at all. I took a gamble like you and I'm guessing they are not gonig to do a single thing for me. They are really quick with order processing and e-mailed me asking if I had any questions. They seemed like a great company but now I'm waiting on a reply to my complaint and from your experience I'm guessing they aren't going to do anything. I wish I would've gotten something different now. I'd be happier with a frickin billet grille!

It seems they're quicker if you're willing to help them, maybe you can try to get a reimbursement from them. What they offered me is garbage, and now they'll probably charge me return shipping even though I was helping them before, so I'm just cutting off communication with them. I'm actually much happier with my blacked E&G billet grille, but I still kind of want to fix it just to fix it.

Well I got this response:

Sorry about the problem, we are aware of the fitment issues and we are working with our shop to revise the mold. You need to use strong double sided tape to attach the bottom of the grille to the front bumper and sand down the top to make it fit better.

We will send you a partial refund to cover your extra labors or you can return it for an exchange of the new revised grille.

I emailed them back to find out what kind of partial refund they would offer and when this "revised" model will be available... We'll see how they respond.

Sorry about what you guys are going through with that company. The fun is, I know for a fact they come up here and read this thread. So, it makes me wonder why they cannot really be fair with you guys that took the plunge to buy these and are helping them out to make the product a better fit.

I hope they come through for you guys.

Yea I agree. At least they are owning up to the issues now and are admitting their fault. I'm just hoping they do the right thing as well and get us taken care of...

Ask them who is covering the return shipping. They sold a faulty product, I was trying to help them, and they told me if I continued to help them they'd give me a revised grille after I returned the grille to them. I shouldn't need to help them in order for them to do that, they should be taking care of the customer.

I didn't get a reply on return shipping yet, but this is what they said to my initial request:

$40-$50 depending on how much works you need but it should not be major and we will send you a refund when you have pained and installed the grille.

So they really only answered the first part of my question about a refund. They aren't the easiest to communicate with but at least I'm getting replies daily I guess...

That's what really bothers me. And they probably expect you to take pictures for them too.

It seems they're mostly communicating to try to get something out of you, whether it be help with the changes or pictures that they can't take.

They responded saying that I would need to pay shipping just like they told you. It's ridiculous and I know to never do business with them or recommend anyone else do business with them. I've never had to pay to ship something a company knows they screwed up on. That's just terrible customer service.

Yup, it's bullsh!t. If you do fix your grille, do NOT post pictures of what you did to fix it. A final result is fine, but do not help them by posting how-to's, unless it's "how-to-run-a-business".

Yea they replied again offering a full refund but of course not covering shipping back to them. My friend who does bodywork said he would help me out and paint it for cost of materials so I'm just gonna go with that. I'm still not impressed with the idea of using double sided tape to hold it to the bumper, hopefully we can figure out something else.

Yeah, it was a risk with a company like that. Live and learn right. Anyways, They're shady all the way through. Probably did save all the pics for advertising. If they didn't then it's good that you took your pics down though.

Hope you make the grille work for you with all the crap you had to go through with it. Could look good if it's done right.
