Map light switch

The Map light switch has come off and when i open the door the all the lights except for the floor lights won't come on. How can I fix the switch or do i need to replace the entire dome cover? Where do i get these items from?

Dealer or junk yard and you have to replace the entire cover.

Mine has the same problem but they cost too much. Just been living without it.

Looks like your switch broke in the off position. Mine hasn't fallen off yet but was blowing my 15a tail lamp fuse while the switch was in the off position. I managed to slide it to the auto position and it stopped blowing fuses, but it's kinda annoying having my interior light up like a christmas tree any time someone comes into my car .

Yes, the replacement is ridiculously expensive and is actually pretty hard to come by on ebay and in the yards (around where I'm at, at least)... If you'd like to do a temporary fix, you can wire it in such a way that it will be on "auto" mode all the time, by splicing the white wire into the orange wire. For more information on how to do this, check out this complete writeup:

Thank you very much for sharing that with me. I am gonna try that wire trick in the near future and see what happens.

04 Maxima tail lights not working

FYI I have just bought an 04 maxima for my daughter and found a box of fuses in the dssh...i guess i know why...tonight while driving it for the first time i found that the tail lights were not working. thanks to the posts on this site and some very minor diagnostic work I had the problem fixed in about a half hour. I spliced the orange and white wires together an all works as it should other than the bad switch.
