Bigger Rims and Engine and trans upgrades

I have a 05 nissan maxima I put 22 inch rims on it Someone told me that bigger wheels mess up your transmission. What upgrades do I need engine and transmission wise?
I don't race I don't speed it's an everyday driver but I don't want my transmission or engine to mess up because of the bigger wheels I like the way it looks and rides. Can anyone give me any advice on this?

with that transmission the larger rims makes the transmission work harder and reduces the life on it. i have 22s on mines but i have the cvt trans and that pretty much all torque so the life doesn't reduce has fast as the earlier models of the 6thgen. if its an everyday driver and your not running it hard im sure you will be just fine.

kool I just needed more info on that. Is there any upgrade I can do to better my chances of not running into problems maybe? Like cold air intake or a oil cooler. I know it a V6 but I love my car and I want it to last and look good too.
