Totaled 05 SL.
This was my parent's car. 05 SL with 63,000 miles, really good condition too. My dad went to the store and as he was driving down the parking lot to leave someone in a Nissan Titan t-boned him in the driver's side. My dad was having some bad neck and should pains and couldn't really turn his body to get out of the car. Fearing he may have something broken, they cut the top off of the car so they could get him out without twisting him any. Luckily he has no broken bones but he's gone to the chiropractor all week and is still taking pain meds for his shoulder. Car may or may not have been totaled before they cut the roof off, I'm not sure. The air bags in the seat and the side curtains deployed, both doors would need replaced along with the glass and the pillar between the doors was twisted a little also. I did snag the armrest for my car so part of it still lives on.
Oh and the guy in the Nissan Titan fled the scene. Luckily someone got his license plate #.

Damn man, sad sight right there, but Glad your Dad is OKAY...Thank God for that....hope they Catch the @$$ who drove off, the car was not hit that bad, but since they chopped off the roof, I think if they didnt it would of been a quick fix as long as no frame Damage........

Didn't get to get anything else. My armrest has been torn since I bought my car 3 years ago and since there's was mint condition and the same color I swapped em. If the airbag in the seat hadn't come out I would have switch the front seats too. Other than that there wasn't really anything I needed. Salvage yard should make some money off of it though. Has a good motor and an automatic that actually works!

They cut the roof off the car for that? He was hit on the driver's side? The damage looks minimal at best. My other car was T-boned much harder than that. That's crazy. Glad to hear your dad is o.k. Post up some more pics if you can.

From the pics it doesn't look that bad and in the grand scheme of things I guess it wasn't. But the front door was actually ripped through, the rear door was pushed back and out about an inch at the rear, the center console and e-brake handle was warped a little, but mainly I think the fire dept. just wanted to make a convertible Maxima. It sucked watching them cut it to pieces, but better safe than sorry with possible neck/back injuries. Here's the only other picture I have, I'll ask my Mom if she has any others.

Yeah, I'm not following the logic behind cutting the roof off either. The door was able to open, and he wasn't pinned, right? Maybe they have different protocols where you are at, but over here, to minimize the possibility of spinal injury, we apply a neck brace and extrication device while the patient is seated, slide a long spine board under them, and then lay them down onto the board. Place the board onto the stretcher, and go to the hospital.
How did they get him out after removing the roof?

Looking at the external damage, I don't think they would have totaled it. It looked like the Titan hit Maxima at rolling speed of no more than 10mph. I'm surprised that warped the center console because I got hit way harder and my center stack was okay. However, my entire dash shifted a little bit tho. lol
+1 on how they got him out after the roof was removed.
