it sounds like a valve body issue like most people have, but right before I purchased the car, a transmission shop did a valve body "rebuild" as well as put a shift kit in the car. Could anything else cause this problem like the transmission mount going bad (the car has 181k miles on it). The transmission doesn't slip or anything, just shifts hard as well as randomly will kick down into a lower gear for a moment before shifting back into the gear that it should be in. If it seriously sounds like it's the valve body and the shop just did a ****ty job, where do most people purchase valve bodies from?

Replaced tranny mount, old mount looked really good for having 182k miles on it... Mount replacement didn't help

anyone have experience with level 10? I saw the link to the transmission fix that was talking about the shift kit.... my car supposedly had a valve body rebuild and shift kit installed before I purchased it, but I don't know how much I believe them to be honest because the shop seemed pretty shady that did the "work" If I'm going to shell out 700 bucks, I want to make sure that it will fix the issue.

I went ahead and ordered the shift kit today hoping that would resolve the issue even though the shop said they installed one before... I figured 89 dollars for the transgo kit is alot cheaper than 700 plus 500 core from level10.

89 is a good deal, however the work is not going to be cheap unless you plan to do it yourself. there are others who have done this themselves with success and posted how-to's. Getting a shop that knows what they are doing is a tough find it seems. If you have questions about level 10, chernmax has experience from them. You can try and ask him. I have the shift kit installed and so far it is doing great. I normally drive using the tiptronic feature, but used the Auto feature yesterday and still shifts smooth as butter. It's been a couple years since install and over a year and a half since fluid change. Still red and smelling like fresh fluid. Good luck and post in the trans fix section and see if anyone can recommend a good mechanic in your area.

I will do the work myself. I have a hard time paying people to do things I can do myself

after doing some internet searches, I saw where engine mounts could also cause a problem... my front mount looks like it has cracks in the rubber, but the one on the passanger side I can't see the rubber as well as the rear I haven't gotten under it to look... I was thinking about replacing all 3 since my car has 182k miles on it. When searching at engine mounts, they were talking about with wires and without.... do I need to get the one with the wires as well as what sensors are these? What exactly do they do? And should I replace all 3 of them since I have so many miles?

Yes the front mount need the wires . Also wors of the wise just get a new OEM valve body . The transgo shift kit is hit or miss I have never heard of a new OEM valve body being bad .

No it's made into the mount . Try to search up here about the mount or my6thgen.org because there should be a way to buy the one without the mount but don't quote me on it .

got under it last night, the mounts are fine.... looks like I will probably be either trying that shift kit I purchased, or just replacing the valve body in it's entirety.... will it harm the transmission to drive it like this?
