New 2007 SE Owner

Hello all i picked up this 2007 SE with 48k miles on it the other day.

245/45 -19 front 275/40 19 rear. the front rubs and has eaten through the splash guard on both sides. what is the proper size tire for 19" rims that wont rub. i don't really know about of sets and all that..

i will be getting yellow fogs, LED conversion in and out and i want to change out the speakers too. i want a new exhaust as well... all in time..

That's beautiful Man. Welcome to the club. I love that car. My parents kept telling me get the Avalon instead for reliability and ride comfort, but come on....how can I pass up that VQ-MAX!!!! But congratulations and take care of your new baby.

Ride looks clean. Made a good purchase since it looks brand new. Like the grille too. Anyways, don't know anything about rims but, I do have 20x9 w/ 40 offset. Doesn't rub at all.

*sigs an old pic.

Nice Maxi. Surprised your rubbing in front and doesn't look like your lowered,
Currect size is 245 40 for 19.

Wonder what the offset of your rims are?

How does the rim offset affect tire size? I need new tires for the front so I will get 245 40.

Great looking car, and so many mods already done, that's gravy! 48000 on an 07, that's unheard of! Mine is stupid low mileage, and i'm just about to break 60k, you got a long life ahead on that ride!

Far as the rubbing, it does look like you're lowered a little bit, are there aftermarket springs on the thing? That with custom rims, think the guy that owned it before you shot from the hip and missed the mark. There's a few guys here that can help with that i'm certain, you may need to start a whole new thread just for that, consider this your intro thread.

That said, mind if I ask what you paid for it? Would be nice to know what a clean max like that goes for right now...

I thought it might be lowered. I will have to call the last owner and ask. The car is a salvage title. It was stolen. It had the bumpers wheels rear view mirror head lights radio and airbox stolen. The guy bought it like that and went mod instead of stock.

wheel width is probably the culprit on the rubbing. is it the whole wheel well or the outsides that are rubbed. Mine are the outsides. I don't have it lowered, however I have 20x9 front and back. I got a smaller profile tire and solved the issue. I recommend finding out what the smallest and largest tire you can fit on it. Smaller=rougher ride so remember that when purchasing. If you are running wider than 9 inch rims on front, might want to reconsider or go without wheel wells. Car is beautiful. Rims are very clean. I like chrome, so not my thing, but would rock these at a track for sure.

BTW, your car does not look lowered IMO. The rear end pic looks like it could be, however the front tire pic looks like normal ride height gap.

Almost sounds like it was stolen so that someone could do the 07-08 conversion on an 04-06...

Nice find with very low mileage!!!

the sides rub when the wheel is turned.

the rear is 275/40 19 and it rubs too on the fender when i hit dips. i will be changing the fronts to 245/40 real soon as i need new tires. will mismatched tire size like that cause any problems? i think once i get 245/40 all around i should be fine.

was checking while writing this and the tires on there now are
these. type not size these. type not size
. i am in Houston and it does not get that cold here but i will have to change the rears by January. not to mention they suck...

i ran Yokohama avid envigor on my old car and boy do i love them so i will be sticking with those. they look to be the best balance. i like a spirited drive but road noise and comfort are top over all.

Man I had 255/40 on back before and they rubbed on dips.

If you can check out the yokohama yk580. They are all season sold only at discount tire I got a deal on them for $500 for all 4 mounted/balance etc. Car is so much quieter and they grip good.

The YK580 are $226 each. How did you get a set of 4 for $500 installed?

i cannot find much info on those tires online. they do look a lot like the Continental ExtremeContact DWS

tell me this, which tires you you comparing them to?
