Recently my 04 maxima wouldn't crank up in the morning. No turn or anything, brought battery to autoparts store and was a bad battery.
Ok, then the next day I crank car up and it cranks, revs, then dies. But, if I give it a little bit of gas it would stay on and drive fine. Does this everytime.
Any help or input would be appreciated.
Car never had the plugs changed or a tuneup. Thinking a tune-up would be sufficient, but I heard bad news about the fuel pump might be going bad.
Thanks in advance!

If you're high mileage, and plugs haven't been changed, I'd suggest you get that done as part of troubleshooting...

Slugish power and stalling certainly are possible with very old plugs. Are you suggesting he shouldn't change high mileage plugs? How would he rule out plugs if they aren't changed?Originally Posted by twentyeggs

We can philosophies all day long, but the only thing fixing this car is troubleshooting.
car has 100k miles, no shuddering or misfires drives fine. Just at start up it will crank, rev, then die unless I give it a lil gas
