new (to me) 2007 nissan maxima

hey everyone just bought this beauty about a month ago and want to do some upgrading and am looking for some tips. As is thought, this ride is awesomeeeee! No mods yet probably gonna go exterior with swapping out headlights to HID kit and new fog lights. Gonna need new tires soon as well. (cant figure out how to post pics.)

Well I was just giving that to you so you can have a list if you want to get LED bulbs and HIDS etc. That way you know what you need.

.....I am getting tired of you newbs coming on here and asking the same damn questions over and over week after week. i mean Jesus Mary and Josheph!! CUT IT OUT... NOW.. YOU!!!! NO!!! BAD!!! The reason no one is posting on your thread is we don't want to encourage this, also, we have replied to too many newbs who aren't willing to do their own research and are tired of it.

now with that out of my system... congrats on the new maxima. It is a HUGE step up from integras. i used to drive my ex's teggy every day. however you will never again have the handling of an Integra. They are one of the best. But the luxury and power outweigh the teggy small car agility 10 to 1. You can do a bunch of mods that get you close.

first is weight reduction. The 5th gen haters don't like hearing this but you can make the 6th gen lighter than they come stock. Mine is lighter than a stock 5.5 gen by about 20 lbs. We have more efficient drive trains and slightly more power.

Next, get yourself some lowering springs, sway bar and some coil overs. Ditch those rims man, ditch them FAST!! those huge hunks of metal are about 55 lbs EACH... they are heavy because they are meant to counter the FWD torque steer that results when you put a 265Hp engine in a FWD car. I have 16lbs rims on my car and it was the best performance gain out of all my other mods. headers aside i have ALL the bolt on mods and rims were the biggest gain. you can easily shed 150lbs of weight off the car by changing rims (and deleting the full size spare), 100lbs deducted from rotational inertia with lighter rims is HUGE for performance and gas mileage. If you do all the suspension junk you will hang with the stock integras again. and then force-feed them exhaust in the straight lines.

thats all for now.

and NO!!! SEARCH you fool, and get rid of that screen name. Its time you move on from the low grade class of car and work your way up. The maxima is a good transition car. I've got my sights set on the Lexus IS-F. she is about 2-3 years away from me financially. probably gunna sell the max to pay for a turbo kit and be ohhhsupacaaaar!!

SEARCH!!!
