hey guys just bought a 2006 maxima 3.5 SE the problem with the shifter is that when i put the actual shifter in the park position it says its on Reverse and it displays the R on the cluster and it moves in reverse also, when i put the shifter in reverse it goes into neutral,and put in neutral it goes into drive and it drives forward put it in drive at the shifter position and nothing happens, its like it one shift behind i have no idea if its the actual shifter assembly or the cable, any suggestion will be greatly appreciated thank u in advance.

 

I would lean more toward and adjustment is needed on the shifter linkage to get the gear changer to match up with what gear the transmission is in.
