So confused regarding 07 Maxima Headlights!

I have a 2007 Maxima with Xenon headlights.

1. Is Xenon lights the same as HID lights?

2. Any way to tell if it's simply the D2S bulb or the ballast?

3. Where is the most reliable non-dealer source for D2S bulbs? Ebay? Any suggestions?

4. Is there a better alternative HID system that I should consider installing since the bumper will have to come off to replace the one light anyways?

Thanks so much and sorry for the novice questions.

Yes, xenon is the same as HID. The best way to check if its the bulb or the ballast is to exchange the bulb on the other side, that's actually working. The most reliable source for bulbs WITH a warranty is the retrofit source. Their bulbs are the best bulbs on the market and WAY cheaper than Phillips or other name brands. And there isn't an alternative to hid. But if you find out that it is the ballast, the retrofit source does sell used maxima ballast for pretty cheap.

Any suggestions on whether I go with 4300? 5000?
Is stock in the Maxima about 4300?

Sorry, one more question. Any suggestions on how I can alter the fog lights in my maxima? I believe they H11 bulbs (halogen). PIAA halogens hyperwhites? Or does Retrofit have a kit I can get to change to HID fog lamps?

4300K is stock and 5000K is pure white. I prefer 5000K.

Here's a kit for the fogs:

You won't get pulled over for 5000K, it's white.

i like the 5000k better than 4300k, cleaner looking in my opinion.
